REINHARD MICHAELS
DIRECTOR / PILATES INSTRUCTOR

A child ice-skating champion in Hamburg, Reinhard trained as a dancer and actor, appearing in many West End and Broadway shows like West Side Story, Cabaret, Cats and Sweet Charity. But when an ankle injury forced him to retire, mirroring his role in A Chorus Line, he ran his own fitness and personal training company in New York for seven years. Discovering Pilates helped him rebuild his strength, and allowed him to become a competent skier, roller-blader and runner. He qualified as a Polestar instructor in Studio and Mat in 2004, and began his first studio, Holland Park Pilates, a year ago.

AMANDA BUMPSTEED
STUDIO MANAGER

Amanda is an Essex girl, and proud of it. She graduated in English, Drama and Dance, and taught drama before moving back to London to work as a journalist. At a young Channel 4, she worked in Documentaries before becoming a Producer/Director. During her TV career, she produced and directed shows like the ground-breaking Mersey Blues, historical biography like Secret Lives Errol Flynn, and prime time shows like Location, Location, Location.

She describes her management style as firm but fair.

CAROLYN BAILEY
PHYSIOTHERAPIST & PILATES INSTRUCTOR

Carolyn has 11 years experience as a physiotherapist, and came across Pilates when she was School Physio for the Central School of Ballet in London. She then combined her Pilates training with her physio experience to create a holistic approach to rehabilitation. Carolyn’s expertise is tracing the source of pain and injury and correcting movement dysfunction, joining forces with her client in an active treatment plan.

AVA KATICS

PHYSIOTHERAPIST

A Sheffielder by birth, Ava’s work has taken her all over the world, in roles as diverse as advising on puppet movement at the National Theatre, to working with professional sportsmen and women, actors, musicians and dancers.

A Chartered and State Registered Physiotherapist, Ava has both a Degree and Post-Graduate qualifications in Physiotherapy. She spent seven years working in the NHS before moving into private practice. Ava has also spent ten years specialising in the treatment of professional dancers, with an emphasis on the prevention of injury and performance enhancement.

Ava’s core belief is that Physiotherapy can benefit everyone, from housewife to elite sportsman, and from firefighter to professional dancer.

KAITHRINA GREENE
MASSAGE THERAPIST/PILATES INSTRUCTOR

As a teenager, Kaithrina was athletics mad, and captained all her schools’ sports teams. After gaining a Sports Rehabilitation and Injury Prevention degree from Middlesex University, she spent two years working for Valencia Football Club in Spain, which lead to a stint at the Beverley Hills Clinic as a massage therapist. Now trained as a Pilates instructor too, Kathrina is convinced that her range of manual and physical therapies can offer the best solutions to our clients.

DANIEL MARTI
PHYSIOTHERAPIST & PILATES INSTRUCTOR

Having played professional football for seven years, Daniel studied for a physiotherapy degree from the University in his hometown of Madrid. After graduating, he studied Pilates alongside three years of coaching international football and tennis stars. Now fully qualified to teach Pilates, Daniel splits his time between the UK and Spain.

He is currently writing a Postgraduate study on motor control exercise therapy in Pilates, and believes firmly in the benefits of combining scientific research with a holistic approach to mind/body therapies such as Pilates.

KATHRYN PAYNE
PILATES INSTRUCTOR

Kathryn danced until she was 14 when she switched to rowing, competing for Great Britain 1994-96. But when a back injury forced her to give up, she took up Pilates to rehabilitate, and it proved to be a turning point. Kathryn followed her Masters degree in Physiology with a Sports Massage and a Personal Training course, and is now a qualified Polestar instructor, with a specialism in pre-and post-natal Pilates.

Kathryn celebrates her ability to enable her clients to move effectively and become strong and stable, and runs Lifecheck Health with partner Guy Meadows under the Little Venice Pilates umbrella.

DR GUY MEADOWS
HOLISTIC HEALTH PRACTITIONER

Guy spent his youth roaming Dartmoor, and developed a love of outdoor activities, especially rock-climbing, surfing and mountain biking. He studied for an MSC in Physiology at Kings College in London, and then for a PhD at Imperial, researching sleep disorders. With partner, LVP Pilates instructor Kathryn, Guy runs Lifecheck Health Ltd, offering an all-round package of health, nutrition, fitness and sleep therapies.

Guy firmly believes that through structured programmes, he can maximise client’s potential and help them attain their peak performance.

LAURA ETIENNE
NEURO FEEDBACK COACH

Laura Etienne is one of the first UK qualified neurofeedback and meditation coaches. She has been using neurofeedback to train for peak performance and meditation since 2000. Since then the range of applications has expanded from meditation, peak performance, attention and focus training to helping individuals reduce their anxiety and depression. Kaizenmind coach Laura possesses over 17 years experience as a national level martial arts athlete and coach. Drawing on this experience she has developed the mental training and meditative techniques that can help you progress into high performance mental states. Having personally achieved competitive and coaching success through the use of neurofeedback, Laura has realised the wide benefits of neurofeedback training. It is this realisation of success that drives Laura to continue her work in sharing these benefits with others.

JAIME DOUGLAS
RECEPTIONIST

Jaime is originally from Manchester, and came to London to study Law. But her love of music was too strong, and she soon landed a place in the pop group VS. During their three years together, Jaime co -wrote many of their hit tracks, and still continues with her song-writing career part-time. Although new to Pilates, Jaime is gradually gaining strength and flexibility, and swears she’ll keep it up now for the rest of her life!
